Our psychologies, spirits and souls are vast and deep.
All beings are capable of growing in the most inhospitable conditions, reaching upward toward the skies and down into the earth as needed for sustenance, for vision, for growth.
Our bodies and minds are infinitely complex; beyond comprehension in their capacities and beauty. Roots secure themselves to what is most true in our souls. Flowers bloom unexpectedly.
Rather than the highways & byways unconsciously directing us from birth to death in profit driven consumer oriented capitalist societies; our lived potentials are as vast & stunning as the arctic tundra; our spirits and souls are as wild & free as the seas & oceans covering the earth; our depths as complex and intricate as the rainforest.
In my work with others, I take my models for what is possible from the natural world: The mammals, birds, reptiles, insects, the skies, the trees the seas and the mountains.
When there is little hope, we must step back, swim out, climb up in mind, in spirit or if possible in body, - to see with vision and perspective that which we have not seen before.
We, our hearts, spirits and souls, are so very much more so than the restrictions, limitations and understandings of contemporary western cultural paradigms.
How do we find our true selves in when we are so often we are asked to conform? To fit ourselves into one of a few dozen possible boxes available for our race, religion, age, gender, environ, the subcultures in which we live?
When the work we most love is not valued or paid.
When parental, family, partner or the expectations of our children (or grandchildren), do not meld with our own vision of how we want to lead this One Precious Life?
When we all too often are unhappy, angry, frustrated or dissatisfied.
Doing work we hate or that brings us little meaning,
Settling for being with the wrong person,
Living in the wrong state/country, place in this wide vast world,
Not having the time, wherewithal or energies to do what we really want and love?
Working from a foundation of feminist, psychological and psychosocial theories, I draw from Transpersonal, Humanist, Jungian, Psychodynamic, Family Systems, Psychosynthesis, Ecopsychology, Buddhism, and Mind-Body Paradigms in my method and approach to our work.
Sessions are offered in my home office a half hour west of Northampton surrounded by forest, marshland, distant mountains, endless sky, and the songs of the birds and the wind.
Weather permitting, our sessions can take place walking in the forest surrounding my office, or, if you are drawn to doing this, at one of many peaceful beautiful wild places nearby.
I offer an interpersonal method which I believe has enormous potential and numerous advantages. Clients utilize journaling, dream-work, autobiography, free form, and other personal writings which they send to me before sessions. We then meet together to discuss, dive into, extend, analyze and further work with weekly session writings. This combination of writing with in-person sessions, is a powerful synthesis of solitary self-motivated depth work and the relational process.
How frequently we schedule sessions (biweekly, weekly, bimonthly, monthly) depends on your needs.

My VisionMy practice never loses sight of the fact that women are individuals within society and that women also make up a class of people within each society. No matter what your ethnicity, race, religion, or class, you are always female. In our work together I will place you and your struggles into the specifics of your own culture and individual life experiences all the while never forgetting the various consequences of being female on your psyche and daily life.
